Words we use
One agreed name for each thing, and every other spelling people use for it — so one ingredient is never counted twice under two names.

The 6 kinds of thing we keep names for

Why one name per thing
Every finding is filed under a name from these lists, never under whatever text was typed. That stops one thing being counted twice.
If a name is not on the list, we say so rather than swapping in the nearest thing. The same lists sit behind the partner API, and the findings filed under them are on any topic or any ingredient page.
